Gwen's been asking for music lessons for at least a year now, if not longer. She debated between piano and guitar, and as it turns out the opinion is that piano is easier at this age. Luckily her preschool teacher, Mrs. Green, teaches piano, lives close by, and had openings.
After only a few lessons I am really proud of Gwen - and surprised - at how well she is learning to play the piano.
Here's the only problem: I have to learn how to play too! Although I guess the upside is that we're getting two for the price of one? In order for me to help Gwen practice at home I have to know what the heck all those keys and notes and stuff means. I have no musical ability at all, other than barely keeping the beat while clapping. At one lesson I commented that I didn't think I would be able to figure out a new song Gwen had to learn and at some point I wouldn't be able to help her anymore. Mrs. Green replied "Oh no, you'll be able to help her because you have to learn all of this too. Now sit on the bench and play this song."

LOL, I love it that you have to learn too. Don't worry Kera, I would have no idea what to do or how to read music! Good luck and please invite us to the music recital :)
I'm so impressed that you're gonna learn too. I wish I would have learned how to play an instrument when I was a kid. I told Gwen she could teach me, but I'm not sure I'm trainable! LOL!
